Well this has been a big week in the DiCarlo household...Garrison started sleeping through the night! It's been three nights in a row that he has slept at least 7 hours without waking...WOO! HOO! I am really hoping this is the new norm, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. The 2nd night he actually slept 10 hours...too bad I didn't take advantage because I was too busy going into check on him to make sure he was still breathing!! I'm sure it won't take too long to get used to it though :)
So I'm thinking that our new bedtime routine has really helped him to understand when his bedtime is as opposed to naptime. We started it about a week ago...this is how it goes...a walk in the stroller, bath, boob, bedtime.
We are just so proud of our little boy - he sleeps in his crib, is able to fall asleep on his own, and understands that night time is for SLEEPING!
I'll keep you posted if things change...

Beautiful boy
My friend, Jane Foster, who I've known since freshman year of high school took some awesome pics of Garrison when he was a month old. She did such a great job! She's starting her photography career and definetly has serious talent. Thank you Jane!

Garrison's first swim!
Happy 1st Father's Day!
It was awesome celebrating Bryan's first Father's day. He is such an awesome dad and just loves Garrison so much. And Garrison definetly loves his daddy too. They have so many sweet moments together. Bryan, being the supportive guy that he is, sends me off to bed and does the first night feeding. It's their special one on one time and Garrison just eats it up. He can't seem to take his eyes off his silly daddy. He even holds Bryan's finger when eating. Sooo cute!
We went out to my parent's house for the day and it was so nice. Here are some pics...
Father and son...so sweet!

Come one come all...
I decided to open up the blog so that anyone can view it. A lot of people were having trouble seeing it and well, I'm just so excited for everyone to check out our little man :)
From the looks of this pic, Garrison is very excited...haha.

Outings!
So Garrison and I try to get out of the house at least once every day. This is to maintain Mama's sanity because she really doesn't do well hanging out in the house all day! Some day's it's just a walk at Rice or running an errand and other days we do more exciting things...like actually go visit people :) Here's some pics of some recent outings.
Hanging out at Gigi and Pops! My mom and I just cracked up at how relaxed he gets being outside!
Cute little toes in the water!
Our little water baby
Garrison's 1st trip to the Zoo...too bad he slept the whole time! Thanks for inviting us Kathleen!
Still sleeping :)

We went over to our friend Lindsey's. She had Geoffery 3 weeks before Garrison was born! Here are the sleeping boys with Geoffery's big sister, Reagan.

This pic just cracks me up! The 2 were just wiggling around totally unaware of each other!
We went to a BBQ that one of my coworkers had. Here's my boss, Susie, (or Auntie Sue as she likes to be called!) holding our little man.
Kathleen's son, Luke, and his buddy Garrison on a walk at Hermann Park after the Zoo.

4 weeks already!
Hi everyone! I know...I know...this post has been a long time comin'. We've been up to a lot over the past few weeks. I can't believe Garrison is already 4 weeks old! He's growing fast - 9 lbs. as of last Monday. It has been awesome loving on him and just being a mom (and dad!). We are getting a lot more comfortable with everything and have even started getting out of the house more. Garrison is starting to sleep more at night (most nights at least!) and is being quite active when he's awake. He's got quite a personality and becoming more and more fun. Here are some things we have learned about him so far:
Here he is with a couple of Julie and Dan's kids, Scout and Olivia. Scout read him his first Dr. Seuss book...too cute!
"Aunt" Julie lovin' on Garrison!

We went to Gran's house and Garrison took a little snooze!
Alycia came over and hung out with us.
Lisa and Colin dropped by to meet our little man and also brought us delicious hamburgers!
Their son William came to visit too! Here he is with Tori. Too cute!
Bryan's Dad (in the blue) was in town so we all got together.
Aunt Missy, the "baby whisperer" working her magic on Garrison.
Aunt Christy loved on him too!
This is a great picture of the 3 generations.
Here's Garrison with Gigi and Pops! We went out to my parents celebrate my mom's birthday.
Aunt Kristi came over to hang out with her favorite nephew!
Here are our "pizza and pie night" friends, Wally and Lisa. I think Garrison slept in Lisa's arms the whole evening!
Garrison just loves Terri! When he was in the belly he would kick when she put her hand on my stomach...and he only did that for me and Bryan!
Kerry Beth and her 2 boys, Mason and Stephen, came to meet Garrison and also brought a great enchilada casserole!
Here are a few more cute pics of our sweet boy...
After his first bath!
In his giraffe jammies...not too excited about taking this pic though!
This is one of his favorite napping positions!
Just so cute! Even with a little red eye from a clogged tear duct.
- He is a busy body...moving around a lot! When we do tummy time his little legs want to crawl so bad but the rest of his body just won't cooperate. It's so funny because he ends up pushing his head into the carpet which really frustrates him!
- He loves to eat! When it's meal time sometimes he gets so excited and starts breathing heavy and routing around. It is so funny!
- When he eats he likes to cover his face with his hand. It's pretty dramatic and of course really cute :)
- He loves being outside, particularly in the sun. When he gets in the sun he immediately throws his head back and just takes it all in.
- He likes the water! Bath time has been great and we also dipped his toes in my parents pool and he liked that too.
- He is quite the tooter...and they are LOUD. Seriously.
- The swing is his favorite toy so far.
- He just loves his parents! Okay, I don't know that for sure, but why wouldn't he?! :)
Here are a few more cute pics of our sweet boy...
Well, that's it for today. I will post more soon!
